Properties:

Plastic mould steel with good toughness properties, easy to machine, better polishability than 1.2312, dimensional stability flame hardenable, good photoengraving properties, requiring no heat treatment, 280-325 HB hardness and tempered condition, suitable for nitriding, case hardening treatments, hardchrome plating and pitting.

Applications:

Medium and large sized moulds for plastic processing up to 400 mm thickness, large injection moulds problematic due to heat distrosion such as moulds for sears, bottle crates, buckets, baths, mould frame for the injection moulding and die casting industries, dies of light alloys with low melting point, components for general mechanical engineering and tool manufacture, recipient sleeves, forge dorp hammer dies, intermediate boxes, hydro forming tools.
